With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we decided to ask funeral practitioners from all around the country why they’re thankful to be in this profession.

Want to know what everyone had to say? Check out their answers below:

“Thanksgiving to me, means family. And when I get the opportunity to serve another family and ease their grief in whatever way I can, I know that’s what I’ve been put on this earth to do… to help others!”

“The opportunity to help others.”

“New beginnings.”

“When a family gets a huge group of people together to TRULY honor that person’s life for what it was.”

“The fact that I’ve made a positive difference in someone’s worst moments.”

“In life, they were my friends and family… but after life they are my angels.”

“I feel like I make a difference. I feel like I’m hanging out with Dad, gone almost 28 years now, who taught me most of what I know about caring for the grieving.”

“Lives LIVED WELL.”

“Experiencing cherished memories.”

“Being touched by those that I meet everyday. Their spirit and souls give me strength, love and blessings that last forever and a lifetime.”

“Having the ability to teach others [through challenging times].”

“The connection to [the] family and friends, memories shared and futures hoped for.”

Happy Thanksgiving!
